1. How did you get started in the flower industry?
I believe my passion and natural attraction to beautiful flowers and plants is in my genes. With a grandfather who grew and supplied the City Flower Market with fresh cut flowers and plants & my mom always busy with catering for the local community I discovered how blessed I am to have to opportunities to create a career from my creativity and skill in the florist industry.

2. What is the biggest challenge facing the floral industry?
Being in the florist industry has its every day challenges but that been said, if one does not experience any challenges then you cannot say that you have accomplished anything. But the biggest challenge I experienced before partnering with Bloomable was the digital and online competition.

3. Where do you look for inspiration?
One great thing is that most florist owners share ideas as one family and we all inspire one another thru belonging to a network of flower lovers. Nature also gives us so much inspiration that can be used in our daily creations.

4. How did you develop your signature style?
My style was always my way of arranging combined with the requests from the client and the basic implementation of years of experience and treasured skills awarded my brand with it unique style

5. What attracted you to the flower industry?
From a young age I knew that I will one day be involved with flowers or farming thereof, but most of all I did not expect to fall into the retail florist industry and making a living from it on a daily basis. The best came through word of mouth and thru the Bloomable Marketplace that got me recognised by the local business and even clients living abroad.

6. How do you plan on growing your business within the next 5 years?
The support from Bloomable has been an amazing journey so far and with the growth of the online sales and the rating we receive from their customers helps us to retain our clients and provide an excellent service and continuous relationship into the future

7. How has Bloomable changed your business?
Bloomable has changed my business into an online success with the sales growth creating more local employment within Blooms&Co Florist. Also introducing their corporate clientele base to us has established a continuous flow of orders from the high end business industry.

8. Knowing what you know now, would you say it was the right decision?
I have never looked back and still proud myself being a Bloomable Partner and looking into the future will most definitely remain excited moving forward with our goals to growth

9. How has the florist industry changed over the past 10 years in SA?
Many of our fellow florists has moved away from the storefront locations due to high retail centre rentals and considering that more than half of our orders does come from online and telecommunications sales, is as satisfying working from a home or workshop operation

10. How do you see Bloomable and your business working together in the future?
I strongly believe that with our experience and creative florist skills combined with Bloomable’s Technology and administrative support will remain a force of nature for many years to come.
