Green Kalahari is a rural area of the Northern Cape tucked between Namibia and Botswana.
There are several large parks and reserves of interest in Green Kalahari. At its farthest northern point is the South African portion of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, a conservation area shared with Botswana. To the south is the Riemvasmaak Community Conservancy, with its 75,000 hectares of gorgeous orange desert, hiking trails, scenic cliffs and therapeutic hot springs. The most popular park in the area, though, is the Augrabies Falls National Park. The centrepiece here is the 60m high waterfall where the Orange River cuts through a beautiful granite gorge.
Visitors and residents looking to enjoy all the open space in Green Kalahari can relax in several towns along the N14 after their adventures. In Kakamas, the Vergelegen Restaurant serves up delicious South African favourites like biltong soup and oxtail. There are also excellent t-bone steaks and the option for al fresco dining. In Uppington, locals love the seasonal produce incorporated into the dishes at the Bi Lo Bistro. Great coffee and breakfast pastries are available at Arabesque, or try a hearty Italian dinner at Bella Roma, a favourite for families.
You may have noticed that we’ve changed our name, but don’t freak out. Get excited!
We’ve had a bit of makeover, but some things will never change. Like our unwavering support for local florists and artisans, nor our commitment to delivering joy through flowers and gifts.
A change of name. But no change of heart.
We’re just growing, flourishing and thriving.
